There are lots of safe beaches within walking distance of the hotel. Some have excellent "sandcastle" sand, Thurlestone Sands has been awarded the European hallmark of the Blue Flag for cleanliness.

Thurlestone has been a hotel for over 100 years. The hotel has been owned and run by the Grose family since 1896. It's a family passion. Each generation adds to the special identity and amenities that keep the Thurlestone Hotel in a class of its own.

There is also a 16th Century pub, the Village Inn, within Tthe hotel's grounds. The pub contains some old oak timbers, reputed to have come from a ship of the Spanish Armada, the "San Pedro" that was wrecked at nearby Hope Cove.

All rooms have en suite private bathroom, direct dial telephone with message waiting facility, remote control colour teletext and satellite television, radio, towelling bath robes, trouser press, tea and coffee making facilities. Deluxe rooms also have VHS video, mini-bars, guaranteed undercover parking space, and most also have balconies with splendid views.

Special diets and vegetarians are also catered for, all using fresh local produce. Room prices include traditional hot English breakfast.
